This is a VERY COOL Japanese place, but not too over the top from a decor perspective. It's a big spot, we're kinda surprised they haven't had to scale back a bit, but it's a testament to both their great food, atmosphere and location on the Steuart Street Restaurant Row. The front room is the bar area, the back is a large, open restaurant, sushi bar and robata grill (for small plates). Full menu both places, and the food is top-notch.
The Cod melts in your mouth, the Shabu-Shabu Kobe beef comes in thin raw strips that you dunk in a flame-heated broth that you just want to take and swig down. And you should, since the damn dish will set you back Forty-Two Dollars. And the sushi and sashimi are super-fresh, and for seaweed-haters like Janine, you can get your sushi rolled in rice paper. Great sake list, we recommend the Waketaki.
The waitresses are pretty hot too;)
This place is on Steuart St., down from Boulevard. Valet parking, pretty pricey. Good Friday happy hour with a live DJ.
