The dog days, people. Before ya know it all this beautiful SF summer weather is gonna be a distant memory and we'll be faced with the gloom of Fall! Get out there and represent!
Thursday-Sunday: SF Chefs. Food. Wine @ Union Square SF
This is the event of the (very busy) weekend. Unless you don’t like food. Or wine. Or chefs. And if that's you, WTF are you reading this blog? So this is the place to plant your butts this weekend. Four fun and fat-filled days of manging, quaffing and people watching on Union Square. Plus the whole shebang supports some kick-ass causes like the SF Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, Golden Gate Restaurant Association Scholarship Foundation (dang guys could you please shorten that or come up with a cool acronym), and Project Open Hand. So open those wallets, support some great causes, feel all warm and fuzzy about yourself, have fun and write it all off!
And if you’re a chef groupie (we know you’re out there, we hear the stories) this is your nirvana. So stuff your beautiful face and enjoy/. We’re gonna be there decked out in full VdV regalia so don’t be shy. Come on over, introduce yourself and let’s do shots!

Saturday: Ziggy Marley @ Mountain Winery
We’re jamming, were jammin’ I wanna jam it with you…wait, I think that’s Bob. Oh well, it’s all in the fam. I like Ziggy even though he was a pitchman for Revlon or some other cosmetics company for a stint. Hey, good $, hot women I guess ya can’t knock it. But still…a reggae dude repping a lipstick company? I dunno.
Anyhoo, we saw him perform a killer show at Greek Theater a few years back. Excellent, and the contact highs are free – bonus! If you haven’t been to Mountain Winery you really should give it a go. Plus it should be a beautiful night there. You can grab dinner there as well. And feel free to pitch a tent (no not that kind, dirty) on their grounds if you need to. Tell 'em VdV sent ya!

Saturday: 3rd Annual Polk Street Pub Crawl
'Crawl' may be the operative word for this puppy. Why would it be different than any other weekend on Polk?! Dang, guurrrlll what a line-up. Sure you could do these yerself but why not pal around with a bunch of other neerdowells.
The Crawl will start at McTeagues Saloon @ 4PM. Stop by their booth and pick up a wristband and you'll have open access to all of the drink specials at every bar. Here’s the starting lineup:

Rock your ass off more like! Hells yeah! Get yer hip hop and rap on, bitches. As much of a PITA as it is to get to Shoreline (in my humble opinion…they really need a hi-speed monorail straight to the venue) this will be awesome, the weekend will be a sunny dee-lite and you’ll get a chance to listen to and experience some world-class bangers like Nas, Big Boi, Common, Busta Rhymes (!), Ice Cube, Cypress Hill and more. Kevlar vests optional.

Speaking of Kevlar. Hey, just sayin'…Anyhoo, no, this is not a lesbian love-fest, this is an actual photo from a recent event though. Yee Haw! Something about that salty bay air.
Plus, it’s just been awhile since we posted a picture of two women making out… hey we need ratings too!
This place gets a little whipped up occasionally, but during the daytime it’s pretty chill. And if it’s gonna be nice anywhere in SF this weekend it’ll be down by Kelly’s in Mission Bay.
The summer mayhem continues! Ya got bands inside, outside and on the deck. This place gets rockin', and is sure to leave you with a fuzzy ‘noggin for Monday AM!
