Here we go again. I know, it's not very summery lately in SF but paste a smile on that gorgeous mug of yours, and go out and have some fun!
Friday: Poolside Party @ Phoenix Hotel Bambuddah Lounge
Throw that caustic, "summer sucks in SF attitude" off like a bad case of swine flu and make believe you live in a city that actually gets the sun. Where, you ask? Phoenix, baby. And not that kiln-hot strip-mall infested hell hole city either, people. Phoenix Hotel in the scenic Tenderloin.
Fancy bevvies, groovin’ tunes, dancing and possible hook ups await. Maybe even with the person you came with.

OK, y’all know we love these people. Even if they won’t follow us on Twitter…(hint, hint). Anyhoo, get the hell outta the clouds and head up to Healdsburg this weekend (choose your day or just crash in their guest house; it’s OK, just tell them VinDivine sent ya) and chill in the coolness that is Bella. You’ll get some new release vinos, some good munchies and of course, as always, live tunes.
This time around, you’ll experience in all it’s wonder: "Jive Samba" with their groovy Latin jazz sounds. The munchies? Hot paella (cold would be gross. It's not like day-after pizza, after all) along with fresh local oysters from Hog Island Oyster Company.

What more can I say? SF is home to lotsa artisanal chocolate makers plus some holes in the wall that sell some cool local brands you may have never heard of. And if you can duck into a bar and down a shot or two when no one's looking, bonus!

Saturday: Dolores Park Free Movie Nite – Pretty In Pink
Pull a flashback and spend an evening at Dolores Park watching everyone’s fave movie Pretty In Pink (come on, admit it…except it’s not Godfather 1 or 2…or Point Break…or Weird Science) oh WTF just go watch it! It’ll be fun and, did you know this nugget of information?
The ending of the movie was changed. Originally, Andie was supposed to
end up with Duckie. However, test audiences reacted negatively to this
finish. And due to Molly
Ringwald being sick during the filming of the first ending, the
director didn't get all of the shots he wanted, and the editing was
unsatisfactory. So, the end was reshot, and in the final version, Andie
and Blane reconcile. Ta da!
Anyhoo, PIP is all about..JHC if ya don’t know yet, just forget it. So fill up the cooler (cans not bottles people) some munchies, a blankie and your squeeze and chill to the Pink.
What: Dolores Park Free Movie Nite
Where: Dolores Park (Dolores & Church, 18th & 21st)
When: 8p
Cost: Free!

Spruce is celebrating its second anniversary on Sunday, August 2, and chef Mark Sullivan and the rest of the crew have created a special three-course menu for the occasion—each course is comprised of dishes prepared two ways: heirloom tomatoes, guinea hen and stone fruits will be the showcased ingredients. I think it'll be dang good eats.
